Upon your arrival in Uganda, pick up your rental car from the airport or office and head to your first destination. Whether you choose to explore the bustling city of Kampala or head straight to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the adventure begins as soon as you set foot in this beautiful country. The road trip from Kampala will last about 8 hours using the Mbarara or Fort Portal routes.
You will be treated to your first game drive as soon as you drive through the park gates. Drive directly to your booked lodge or campsite for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.
On your second day, embark on an early-morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Expect to encounter a variety of wildlife including including lions, hippos, Elephants, Buffaloes, and countless antelope & bird species. Drive back to the lodge or campsite for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon drive to the Mweya peninsular for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and get a chance to witness water animals like crocodiles as well as bird species and animals resting on the banks of the channel. After the 2 to 3 hours boat cruise, self drive back to your lodge or camp site for dinner & overnight stay.
Head towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the endangered mountain gorillas. You will drive through the Ishasha sector where you might encounter the infamous rare tree-climbing lions. The driving distance from Queen Elizabeth national prk to Bwindi forest 181km which is about 3 to 4 hours drive.
Arrive in Bwindi forest in the afternoon just in time for lunch. Check in the lodge or camp or have a guided stroll in the forest.
Embark on a gorilla trekking experience and witness these gentle giants in their natural habitat. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is truly unforgettable. You will drive to the park headquarters in the morning for briefing and last-minute preparations before heading out into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking can last between 3 to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and once in their midst- you will only have 1 hour to observe & take pictures. Track back to the meeting point, nd drive back to your safari lodge or camp.
After an incredible gorilla trekking experience, check out and prepare to drive to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. The driving distance from Bwindi forest to Lake Bunyonyi is 134 km using the Kabale Kisoro road meaning it will take about 3 to 4 hours driving to the lake.
Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, relax and unwind on the shores of this picturesque lake, surrounded by lush green hills. Take a boat ride or go kayaking to explore the numerous islands dotting the lake.
On your last day, check out of the lodge or campsite and prepare to drive back to Kampala city or directly to the airport depending on the drop-off location you agreed with us.
